I missed that one. What cup was Trump trying to pick up?
Anyway, I was really struck by how pathetic and sad the token Democrat response was. They had some washed up ex-governor from Kentucky that must have been 80 years old give a canned 9-minute speech in some dark diner (that was obviously closed for the night). Behind him were some unsmiling, very unenthusiastic looking people sitting on stools with deep frowns. They looked like refugees from a Jeb Bush rally.
I couldn't believe that the normally media-savvy Democrats would have such a depressing backdrop for their response. I can only surmise that they were hoping that the optics of sad-looking "plain folks" from a run-down diner in flyover country would paint a dark image of "Trump's America." If that was the intent, it badly backfired on them.
Notice he was an EX-governor. The Dems knew anyone opposing Trump in the rebuttal would lose re-election. They know the jig is up. They are only in it for money and power — for themselves. Trump is also in it for money and power — for America!
Some GOP guy from Kentucky gave a response to the response on Facebook. He told how corrupt this former governor and his administration were, some of them in prison. He told how the current republican administration is still cleaning up his mess.
