Yes, they do have this power. They can dismiss any case.

Whether this is a wise use of the powers they have is another issue entirely.

Wow 200,000 20 year old warrants !

And 600,000 more 10-20 years old.

Way past time to toss any beyond the statute of limitations.

But is the wholesale purge the same thing?

Seems to me they should be required to actually go through the 200K - 800K cases one by one and give reasons for the dismissal, rather than simply hitting the ‘delete’ button.
