Who Will Be Hit Hardest by Trump's Policies? Trump Voters. (Desperate Media)
NBC News ^ | February 6, 2017 | Martha C. White

Donald Trump made it an early priority to dismantle the top domestic and economic achievements of his predecessor's administration, pushing for a repeal of the Affordable Care Act (a.k.a. Obamacare) and eschewing global trade deals like the Trans-Pacific Partnership.

But his most ardent supporters might have a surprise coming: Many Americans who would bear the brunt of Trump-administration policies are the same people who chose the GOP candidate for president in November.

"I think you're going to get a disproportionate impact on people who supported Donald Trump but maybe don't realize that his policies may end up hurting them instead of helping them," said Michael O. Moore, a professor of economics and international affairs at George Washington University.

Half of Republicans Have Obamacare

According to Gallup data, the number of Americans without health insurance was just under 11 percent in the fourth quarter of last year, down from roughly 17 percent three years earlier.

Odds are, a large number of those newly insured were Trump voters: An analysis by the Kaiser Family Foundation found that 6.3 million of the 11.5 million Americans who used the ACA marketplace to buy their insurance last year live in Republican Congressional districts.

Policy analysts say that a rollback of the ACA would hurt older and rural Americans — two populations that favored Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton in the presidential election.

One ACA rule that would likely disappear under a Congressional repeal put limits on how much more insurers could charge older customers, said Josh Bivens, director of research at the left-leaning Economic Policy Institute. Rolling back those caps would mean that older Americans trying to buy health insurance would pay more, especially in areas where there was little competition in the insurance market, as is the case in many rural states.

This is an incredibly biased article which extols all of Obama and the left's programs and says that voters will hurt because of repealing Obamacare, getting rid of TPP, and tariffs. The whole article was one-sided - not showing negative consequences of Obamacare, TPP, and sending jobs across the border.

The liberal, coastal elite talk down to Republicans again. They assume they aren't smart enough to know how to vote, that they don't even know their own self interest. The liberal elite, however, know what is in their self interest better than even they do. These ignorant bigots have hope, however. The left will redeem them if they heretofore renounce Trump, join "the resistance", grab a protest sign, and vote Democrat.

The media's pathetic strategy since the election has been to divide Trump and his voters. I think they may have had some small success as the Twitter account @Trump_Regrets shows. However, some of the people who claimed to have voted for Trump and say they now regret it clearly (based on their timelines) never liked Trump from the beginning. On a large scale, though, I think the majority of Trump voters are still with him.

If the left truly believes this you’d think they’d fall all over themselves getting out of Trump’s way so we can get our just desserts. =P

So, replacing two part time jobs without benefits with high full time paying manufacturing jobs with benefits, creating tax payers that pay into our infrastructure, military, and space program instead of China's, and eliminating the high premiums and deductibles that come with the so-called coverage under Obamacare are actually going to hurt us?

I'll take my chances.

Maybe he mean small business owners, coal miners, oil workers, the religious right? No? People in support of tax relief? No? People that want to be freed from the yoke of PC tyranny? No? How about people that think that the Constitution means what it says it means, or people that America has the rights acknowledged for any other sovereign nation? No?

I’m stumped.

Who Will Be Hit Hardest by Trump's Policies? Trump Voters...wrong - Trump voters have a clear understanding of what their own best interests are and are not self-destructive, as are the lefties, whose need to feel morally superior and super-sensitive to the needs of others override their own sense of self-survival and who will gladly help the newly arrived Jihadists hold the knives steady while their own throats are being sliced.....

Half of Republicans Have Obamacare

1. Not true. The truth is probably that half of people forced onto Obamacare are republicans. 2. Part of the reason so many republicans hate Obamacare so much is that many of us were forced to buy it against our will. We are paying more for terrible insurance, and the insurance covers almost nothing because of the huge deductibles and co-pays - except "free" birth control and recreational abortions.

That’s because leftists are like Bernie Sanders who never earned a paycheck until after he was 40 years old.Up until that point he existed by living off others labor and capital.

That he is becoming a theme in Ohio and it is mostly true depending on what you mean by hurt. If lack of a government handout means hurt then the liberals are correct. Fortunately there are still people in Ohio who dont want or even resent government help. They would rather have a job than a handout.

I think they’re starting to wake up to the reality that Trump and his supporters damn well said what we meant.

They know we’re right. Deep down they have to.

More of the elitest, leftist mantra of:

`You don`t know what`s in your best interest. We`ll tell you, because you`re incapable of determining it yourself`.

Onoz! How EVER will I be able to “bear the brunt” of NOT being punished and taxed on making sane health insurance choices and keeping my personal data off Health.gov???
