I HAVE the F150. You are damn right about those latches. My brother’s Tundra never had this problem.
The exploding rear windows is due to temperature differences and torsion on the body. I’ve had my rear window shatter twice - both times in cold weather; once with the rear window defogger on, and once with it off. Both times, I had hit a bump in the road, and the torsion on the body was just enough to shatter one of the three back windows. Unfortunately, the entire window has to be replaced.
