Environmentalists facing a hostile Trump administration and a Republican-dominated Congress say the courts may offer their best chance to block changes they oppose.

Advocacy groups nationwide are hiring more staff lawyers and coordinating with private attorneys and firms volunteering their services.

They are seeking donations, setting priorities and reviewing laws that could be the basis of lawsuits against Trump policies concerning climate change, endangered wildlife, pollution and other issues. …

President Trump needs to go Cloward and Piven. Simply overwhelm the system with massive amounts of legislation so that the enemy collapses from system overload.

If President Trump simply rescinds Nixon’s executive order that created the EPA then the problem goes away.

Environmentalists ... say the courts may offer their best chance

Pffft. It's always been their best chance, their only chance. These wackos could never win very many legislative battles.

It is going to be delicious watching the Trump administration completely outnumber these idiots. Yes, the watermelons (green on the outside, commie red inside) will initiate thousands of lawsuits but I know the Trump AG will just out maneuver them. They will get Congress to change law if nothing else, but it should not be necessary.

All Scott Pruitt at EPA has to do is change the written EPA policy on any issue for which they get a lawsuit.

Get a lawsuit because environmentalists don’t want a farmer to drain a swamp on his land because they call it an environmentally sensitive area? Just change the EPA policy to say that wetlands smaller than 10 acres in size on private property are no longer subject to EPA regulation.

Presto.

Stroke of the pen. Law of the land. Cool. As long as Pruitt does not violate the specifications of the “Environmental Protection Act” itself, he can make EPA policy anything he wants.

Meanwhile, while we have the Senate and Congress, the EPA Act REALLY NEEDS to be weakened, by a lot, so when the next Democrat president gets back the EPA, they are severely hamstrung!

I hope Trump gets around to this. Severely weakening the Environmental Protection Act itself.

And go after the Army Corps of Engineers while you are at it. They want every rain gutter in every suburb to be a “navigable waterway” they can regulate.

Man, Agenda 21 took it on the chin with President Trump’s election! I love it.

In the first place, why do these “environmentalists”, groups, financiers and their law firms have ANY standing in court at all. Plus, how can they show any “damages” that the court can do anything about to “make them whole” and what valid, legal claims can they state before any damages can even be demonstrated? What proof is there of ANY environmental damages??

Trump’s/Admin’s lawyers should use the same claims that have been used against the citizens who’ve tried to fight against the anti-Constitutional laws and regs by the courts in the past- no standing, failure to state a valid claim, inability of the court to provide any relief before any damages have been proven, etc, etc.

Again, WHY do “environmentalists” and groups have ANY standing whatsoever in this? Boot ‘em out of court.

I hope the Trump appointees and their legal staffs have been given marching orders of not to yield or “settle” any of these d@mmed environmental lawsuits and to vigorously defend any of them all the way to the Supreme Court. And NEVER to agree to pay ‘damages’ or legal fees for these evirowhacko nazis.

Environmentalism is a religion to much of the left. They might be atheists but they pray to the earth mother gaia or whomever.

The Avatar movie is like their theology. Believe it; they do.

Well, the argument put out by the National Park Service is that any pipeline or road threatens endangered species in the park.
