Sheriff Sally Hernandez responds to Gov. Abbott's threats

Tuesday, Gov. Greg Abbott informed Hernandez in a three-page letter that her ICE policy would betray her oath to residents of Travis County. He also added that failing to remove the policy before it is enacted on Feb. 1 would run the county the risk of losing grant money from the Criminal Justice Division.

Abbott upped the ante Wednesday by telling Fox News Wednesday that he is working with lawmakers to create legislation that would include civil and criminal penalties for public officials wanting to create sanctuary cities.

Hernandez responded Thursday that she would continue on with her policy because it does not go against the state or federal laws.

This is the county where uber lib Austin, TX is. There's 1.8 million in state funds on the table. It's only 1% of the sheriff's budget but it's still a chunk of money.

Hope Abbott find s a way to place her inside a cell in her own county jail.

She doesn’t realize that it actually does violate Federal law. And if Abbot has his way, it will soon be in violation of state law - the Legislature is in session this year...

Deport the b*tch. This is America. We have laws. Providing sanctuary to criminals is not one of them.

From the link in post 8.....

He warned Hernandez that if she did not undo her sanctuary decisions before the beginning of February in her county, a county that includes the city of Austin, then she will lose her funding.

This could mean that the county will lose Criminal Justice Division grant money, which would not affect the country until later in the year, but the $1.8 million that was granted last year will be depleted by October of this year.

This will greatly affect the juvenile justice system in Travis County, according to Judge Sarah Eckhardt. “It hits the sheriff’s office very little at all,” she stated. “It hits the county attorney’s office, the district attorney’s office, the civil court system, and the juvenile probation system. It hardly touches the sheriff’s department.”

_____________________________________

Of all the arrogant stupidity. This cop-ette is not affected. But many other jobs, departments and offices will be harmed.

Lets hope that other city and county officials will come together and prevent this beyotch from screwing Austin up even more than it already is.

Did this mental midget marry her last name, as many phony “Latinas” do? This gives them access to Affirmative Action jobs and a leg up when they run for office in heavily Hispanic areas. Just ask “B-1” Bob Dornan, former conservative GOP Congressman from CA, how that works. He was defeated by a phony Latina, and many illegal votes made that possible.
