CNN: “Cernan couldn’t bear to see Trump inaugurated.”

Only half kidding. You know CNN’s staff is thinking it.

There is a great movie about him and the Space program, The Last Man on the Moon. One scene has him walking around the old space launch site wondering why there is no space program anymore. RIP Gene

I worked on his airplane for years. A true gentleman. He took me and my son to hunt deer on his ranch, the does needed thinning out. He will be missed!

I just watched that movie recently. Sorry to hear he has passed so soon after. My favorite memory of him is when he was acting as TV commentator during the first test flight of the Shuttle Columbia. He got so emotional during the launch, repeating “go baby!” as it climbed out, that it gave me goosebumps and I felt the same emotions. It was a great moment as we finally returned to space. Can’t wait for President Trump to restore our space program, so trashed by the vile Kenyan, and to restore our national prestige in the process.

I met him in Houston in 1974-75. He was an unassuming class act. He passed way to young.

Dang. I saw Apollo 17’s launch in person, at the Cape. Indelible.

6 of the 12 are still alive. Aldrin is the oldest (86); Charles Duke (81) is the youngest.
