On the heels of new sanctions enforced by the Obama administration, Russian President Vladimir Putin has released his annual New Year's statement to the international community. CNN repeatedly noted that Putin "sidestepped" President Obama in the statement, instead offering his congratulations to President-elect Donald Trump.
In his annual greetings statement, Putin expressed hope that after Trump is sworn in as US President on January 20, the two countries, "acting in a constructive and pragmatic manner, will be able to take real steps to restore the mechanisms of bilateral cooperation in various areas and take their interaction in the international arena to a whole new level."
The feeling appears to be mutual. When Putin decided not to retaliate against Obama's sanctions, put in place in the wake of supposed Russian hacks that the CIA believes affected the outcome of the 2016 election, Trump praised his patience and intellect.
Great move on delay (by V. Putin) - I always knew he was very smart!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 30, 2016
Putin said he'd like to wait to see what Trump's policies will be when he assumes the presidency. If so inclined, Trump can veto the sanctions.
Hehe. Zero has zeroed out.
Very likely, Trump will in fact veto virtually all of the EOs that Barack Obama has enacted in hate.
By respecting Vladimir Putin, and not focusing on the trivial, Donald Trump rises higher and lifts America along with it. Russia behaved badly towards the world post-WWII, having been picked up as a war ally and thus had its pride stroked while still in the throes of communism — but is this forever its destiny? The USSR eventually blew up in Russia’s face, and now Barack Obama has provided the world with an eight year running display of Socialism Is Ungood.
Classic Jiu-Jitsu maneuver, I believe.
The ENTIRETY of the Democrat set-up is the knowledge that Trump will lift the bogus sanctions on Russia.
That’s the key. That’s how to understand their current irresponsible and foolish behavior. That’s the box.
Knowing that Trump will seek detente with Russia, especially since everything the neocons and neolibs are saying now, and the actions they are taking is completely bogus.
We will hear 4 full years of how Trump is a Russian agent. You can take that to the bank.
Yeah... “soft on Russia” will be the hoot.
As if they really cared.
They are hardened, cynical. They would just as soon blame a non-Democrat for being “hard on Russia” if it helped them. In fact, they did, at a time when Russia was far more ill behaved on the world scene than now.
Trump needs to do undo 0bama’s Russian decrees, then immediately after do something that will absolutely outrage the liberal establishment and the MSM. They have the attention span of fleas and will barely even register what he did.
And happily, Vladimir Putin is level headed enough, and knows enough world history, that he, along with Donald Trump, both see through the ruse.
Have any of the folks fulminating about alleged Russian hacking in the election ever come up with an explanation of what it was the Russians actually did?
If they haven’t, I can’t see it was anything more than to spy on the process. Something about which I would be more relieved than incensed about, frankly. They ought to be more open in order to discourage shenanigans.
With the flick of their bright red capes, The Matadors (Trump & Putin) provoke the Bull(Obola) to dash from one end of the field to the other end. The Bull run into walls, over steep cliffs, and into deep bodies of water.
The entire spectacle is both entertaining and enlightening.
Putin is taking out the garbage for us, last load on the truck - January 20th!
They don’t even have to stab the bull. They just tweet in front of its face.
As Russia recovers from the errors and damage of atheistic communism, the USA is fighting off its own internal Marxist faction and their manipulative Marxist and Islamo-Marxist allies - it is an active war. Russia is converted. Russia is an ally of Christianity. Russia should be our ally. Our Marxists are unified against that - they must prevent Christian unity and sow seeds of chaos everywhere to usher in theirctotalitarian one world government. I know...preachin’ to the choir.
Yeah... soft on Russia will be the hoot.
The same bunch that spews this have been on board with paying ransom to Iran, the Benghazi cover-up, bashing of Israel, and countless other foreign policy abortions by the Obama administration.
F em.
I never thought I would be saying this, but Putin is a very strong leader for his people and his country...he wants what President Trump wants for America and her people...jobs, peace, unity, and NO WAR!!!
It sure ain’t perfect and there is church intrigue going on. But in spite of that, yes it is Christian in the sense of being intended for the service of Jesus.
Sometimes Christians are like, if it isn’t happening in my denomination or even my sector of modern Christendom, it isn’t real. And we miss a whale of a lot that way. Even watching the Jews is important, because “the gifts and calling of the Lord are irrevocable.”
Which will be hypocritical coming from politicians who saw no problem with Hillary selling the uranium rights in the US to Russia.
Not really necessary... they are busy F’ing their own stubbornly miserable selves, at this moment.
