That's government for you. At least relief is on the horizon.
71 percent of FL voters approved this law. The other 29 percent look like Democrats who refuse to honor election results.
Just put THC in a pill and dispense them if it is actually needed, that’s the active ingredient. Otherwise, it’s just a way to start down the road to legalizing pot.
Impossible.
The only way any drug works is to burn it and suck it into your lungs.
Oral administration is slow-onset; some patients need rapid-onset (which is always useful for controlling the doseage to get only as much as you need for your symptoms at any given time).
if it is actually needed, thats the active ingredient.
It's the best known active ingredient but not the only one.
It’s the same with aspirin.
Smoking it works faster.
There are dozens of different cannabinoids in real marijuana, in different combinations and percentages depending on the strain.
Many have turpenes not found elsewhere.
THC is a small piece of the puzzle.
Oh, and on the legalization of pot.
It’s here.
The new California law will allow every adult to grow up to 6 plants in their backyard every year. That is easily 20 pounds of trimmed bud, per person with access to dirt, sun and water.
When uncle Bill and aunt Millie come to visit, they will bring a pound of sativa.
Pot dispensaries sell tons of edibles, are those more for getting high than for dealing with pain. Or do they assist with chronic pain?
I can see where rapid-onset (smoke) can be more precisely controlled in regulating pain. If the edible has not taken effect and the patient continues to ingest more THC to relieve pain, they are effectively overdosing. That’s never good.
If one needs a prescription for marijuana, then the simple, easy solution is that only pharmacies will sell it.
Anything else is just making it easier for potheads to get high.
The federal illegality of pot prevents that.
Since it’s an herb, I don’t see Walgreens or CVS dispensing the product. In China or India, the pharmacists likely dispense all types of medicinal herbs.
View post #1 from the Forbes article, Florida is looking at a billion dollar industry within a few short years. Got to spread the green(s) around!
Thc may allow opiate addicted pain-management patients to eliminate doses in exchange for marijuana. Thc should be the lesser of the two evils -it’s not as psychologically or physically addictive. (Disclaimer-I have no expertise.)
Same with Tums, man.
Put ‘em in your pancakes.
Cures the pain.
Or just smoke ‘em.
Where are the smoking nazis? Smoking kills we are told. Tobacco is bad. Why the silence on weed? It”s smoke into lungs. That can’t be good for someone. Rhetorical questions.
I don’t like tobacco or pot warriors
Let folks smoke both.
“Tobacco is bad. Why the silence on weed? Its smoke into lungs. “
Because weed does not have the 8,765,242 carcinogenic additives. /s
.
Smoking marijuana makes your lungs stronger and healthier.
That’s a well known fact.
That’s why you should also smoke Wheaties.
There are dozens of reasons why inhaling the plant ingredients is a far better than THC pills. It can be vaporized with zero lung damage instead of smoked.
Cannabinoids are far more complex than narcotics and most other drugs. You can’t simply isolate a perfect mixture of cannabinoids into a liquid form like morphine and keep the effectiveness. THC is the most prevalent active ingredient but there are hundreds of others in the plant that also medicate.
Cannabinoids are best when they work together and each patient has a preferred cocktail. There are thousands of different strains raised for various illnesses and a patient can sometimes find the perfect one for themselves through trial/error
FAR different from the simple pharma pills we are used to.
Have numerous friends with severe pain and cancer whose life was saved by using more of the plant and fewer heroin pills. Eventually your liver begins to be damaged by narcotics and you cant take enough to stop the pain. Cannabis has ZERO liver damage at any dose and ZERO bad interaction with other drugs
You can vape cannabis directly and not smoke at all. Many longterm users who start coughing immediately switch to this. Not so with tobacco
With tobacco you can vape but only extracts made with chemicals that the jury is still out on. Personally, these vapes made me feel sicker than marlboro reds. I tried to switch but every vape made me feel worse.
There are also some studies that show the particles and tar in cannabis smoke are not as damaging to lungs as tobacco smoke. They are not sure exactly why but there is evidence cannabis-only smokers are much healthier.
Personally, I’ve known several olympic level athletes that smoked cannabis frequently. But never met ONE that could smoke tobacco and compete
