It may help, but lots of time the local news stations just parrot whatever news service (network or AP) they use. For example, just now the local ABC news outlet here in ABQ had a story how there are concerns with a conflict of interest between Trump's presidency and his business interests. One expert was an Obama "ethics" appointee who said Trump may break the law. Of course during the entire past campaign there was nary a peep by the MSM of Hillary's blatant conflict of interest with the Clinton Crime Foundation and how it enhanced the Clinton's personal bank accounts.

He can go directly to the people in numerous ways.
Social media. Twitter. YouTube.
He can build up the alternative media by using it.
Go over the heads of the MSM like Reagan did, but with vastly more choices and modalities.
