The Clinton family foundation turned out to be a liability for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. But it wasn’t foreordained. Here’s how it happened.
After serving as Mitt Romney’s campaign manager in 2012, I formed an outside political group called America Rising tasked with doing opposition research on Clinton. She left the State Department in 2013 with sky-high favorable ratings, but we knew that popularity (which might soon doom any 2016 GOP nominee) was the result of a general lack of scrutiny in the previous four years.
When we first started talking to reporters about the Clintons’ vulnerabilities, to their credit, they were almost always interested in the Clinton Foundation. Already, there were suspicions about the foundation unethically blurring the lines and bending the rules. The organization represented the intersection of politics and money, the favorite topic of any good political reporter.
In August 2013, the New York Post broke a story showing the Clinton Foundation had spent $50 million on private travel. Former President Bill Clinton had apparently become addicted to private jets. The general election was still more than three years away, and already the Clinton Foundation was transforming from a well-meaning charity to a private slush fund enriching the Clintons, making a mockery of Hillary’s claim the next year that her family was “dead broke.”
Uncovering this information was a challenge. Despite its lofty campaign promises about transparency, the Obama administration refused to cooperate with many of America Rising’s Freedom of Information Act requests.
Enter the conservative advocacy group Citizens United, whose president, Dave Bossie, went on to serve as President-elect Donald Trump’s deputy campaign manager. When our public-record requests for Clinton’s State Department correspondence were denied, Bossie took legal action, arguing that the public had a right to see this information.

My suspicion is it will do more than just ‘take her campaign down’, it will take down the entire Democrat party and their big money donors to boot. It is a lot more than a ‘slush fund’ it is a gateway to hell.................

LARRY KLAYMAN: All I remember reading every time Larry Klayman’s name (from Judicial Watch fame) was mentioned on this site—year after year during the Obama regime’s highest power arcs—was how impotent and incompetent Klayman was, that he was just a money-grabbing nothing-burger who NEVER consummated any of his lawsuits and FOIA requests against the GD Clintons or the other idiot liberals.
What I loved about Klayman from the beginning—whether or not ANY of his complaints even got a sniff from the idiot dems in power—was that he continually busted the Clinton’s asses, often and relentlessly, like no one else had. But so many FReepers attacked Klayman and derided him at every chance. And these FReepers were supposed to be on our side!
TREY GOWDY: Another man they continually tore up was the brilliant and powerful conservative, Trey Gowdy. Trey was on our side more than any other person in congress, putting his ass and reputation on the line every day—standing directly in front of the most evil politicians this country has ever had to face, and he did it nearly alone. And he kicked the shit out of Hillary Clinton (and Bill) nearly every chance he got.
But again the FR boobirds mocked him and derided him too, every chance they got.
Well to those FReepers who were in that crowd beating up on Klayman and Gowdy for whatever reason you felt you had to... you should be deeply ashamed of yourselves, and you owe both of them MASSIVE apologies. Because without them, and Rush, Hannity, and precious few others with a strong conservative megaphone willing to fight that evil Clinton day after day after day, the whole election may have been different.
In my opinion, these two men (and the others I mentioned) deserve the highest accolades from us—ESPECIALLY FROM FREEPERS! If a Medal of Honor could be given to these brave patriots, they’d get one. Because without them, I am not sure that the effort to finally and forever remove the Clinton SCUM from the American political landscape would have achieved the critical mass that it took.
So from Husker8877: Thanks Mr. Klayman and Judicial Watch, thanks Trey Gowdy. Awesome job, keep up the pressure so the GD Clintons can never rise up politically again.
And lastly, to those wuss FReepers: Have some friggin’ faith in those on our side for once, OK? Jeez!

Judicial Watch ‘yes’, Klayman ‘no’. Klayman has been gone from Judicial Watch for years .... the person who has made Judicial Watch into a force to be reckoned with is Tom Fitton, who has been President of Judicial Watch since August 1998.
Last I heard of Klayman, he was representing a couple of parents (Pat Smith & Charles Woods?) in a lawsuit regarding the deaths of their sons in Benghazi.
Not a problem, I prefer accuracy.
When I checked a week and a half ago, they weren't listed when i went thru Firefox as a search engine.
I noticed as the page was loading, that cookies from google were being loaded, and i don't use Google.

No worries. Comments on the thread indicate the listing was somewhat recent, and attribute it to corruption.
