Green Energy Companies Helped Bankroll Tribe Behind Dakota Protests(warpath)

Two green energy companies contributed a quarter of a million dollars to the American Indian tribe spearheading a months-long demonstration against an oil pipeline in North Dakota.

Standing Rock Sioux voted unanimously April 5 to accept two $150,000 donations from ConEdison Development and Fagen Inc., both of which have partnered up to build windmills in the North Dakota area, according to internal documents kept by the tribe.

ConEdison Development acquired land near Standing Rock’s reservation and began construction on a wind power facility last year. Fagen was a contractor on the project.

The $250,000 donations to the tribe were meant as a show of appreciation for the Standing Rock’s cooperation in building the Campbell County Wind Farm, Mark Noyes, president and CEO of ConEdison Development, told reporters at the time.

They were also directed toward supporting public housing on the tribe’s reservation, according to Noyes.

“We wanted to go ahead and build the wind project and be part of the community. The tribe has other important issues that they need to deal with,” he said. “And you work together to create a win/win for both organizations.”

This is the new paradigm.

A landscape blighted by ugly windmills or a buried pipeline noone will see.

A gas pipeline is nearly invisible on the landscape

compare that to hundreds of windmills with 116’ blades atop 212’ towers -

which is more destructive? Which is visually obscene? Which destroys scenery and nature?

These people are worried about their “sacred lands?” What a joke!

Especially a pipeline that, for the most part, follows existing routing. Eveytime I see one of these eyesore windmills spoiling my “view shed” I hope to see it burst in to flames. Well the ones that are actually spinning. Which seems to be only about half of them. When we moved from FL to NV we were driving through the middle of NFW Kansas and as we crested a hill we could see a line of these monstrosities looming in the distance. Talk about a spoiler.

Very few tribes have equitable sharing of tribal monies. The sad reality is a microcosm of what we have seen in our country. The elite and connected become very wealthy and the average tribal member remains mired in poverty. The crony politics in many tribes is second to none.

I would love to see Project Veritas do something with the tribes because it would be blatant. Approach the chiefs and use the Indians - almost a 100% guarantee they would go for this. They are just like the Al Sharpton’s of the worlds. Talk a great game for their people and line their pockets the whole way.

The ads against the teepee protest on the nightly news should be

large windmills alternating with $100 bills on one arm and Indian headress feathers on the next.

January 1st? Well we could spread the word that “they”(evil Trump no doubt) moved the inauguration date and probably half of them would buy it. I suppose they are all walking there since they eschew any petroleum based mode of transport. ;-)

Well there really is not much to see in Kansas. As for seeing them not spin they have a narrowing operating range of wind speed. Too slow or too fast and they won’t turn.
