"I cannot think of any argument that can establish that a centralized “environmental protection agency” a good idea, WADR. Or even a decentralized one."

Polluted water and air don’t recognize state borders for example.

So what legal options does a state have to stop a neighboring state from polluting air and water that blows and flows into the downstream state?

In other words, what federal law can the downstream state complain that its neighbor is breaking since the states have never delegated to the feds the specific power to regulate environmental protections?

And if the states ever expressly constitutional delgate environmental protection powers to Congress, then elected members of Congress must to take full responsibility for those powers, not non-elected bureaucrats.

No such things were ever the purpose of the EPA. And we do have courts for such things notwithstanding; there is no need for a centralized agency answerable only to the POTUS to churn out job-killing dictates, which is what the EPA actually does.

If they are depressed and worried about their jobs, then they are part of the problem, not part of the solution.

As the Big Zero said, elections have consequences.

Now is time for environmentalists to get some “tough love.”

"'Some federal employees were so depressed, they took time off,' it stated. 'Others might retire early.'"

You make me happier with every thread :)

I wish I could grab that picture from Naked Gun 2 when the waitress is walking around with a box full of nooses and and all kinds of stuff to do yourself in :)

And the song being sung: Could be EPA workers’ song this week to Trump :)

“I’m feeling blue, just thinking of you
Get out of bed, Wish I were dead
and I hope you do too.
So I have given up, I’ve thrown in the towel
I’ve taken all the pills the law will allow...
A noose or a gun would get the job done”

:)

I might add that at the local level, overzealousness of environmental policies in New York City caused that locale to have limited railroad access in the 19th century, due to their insistence on banning steam locomotive operation in Manhattan south of 42nd Street in 1840; this forced most railroads to end their lines in New Jersey on the waterfront of the Hudson River. And later in the postwar period, mayors such as Robert Wagner enacted social spending policies that caused manufacturing to flee the city.

This is easy.

Move the agency HQ to Anchorage.

No new or replacement hires.

Watch what happens next. :-)

Yeah.. I remember the Dept of Energy was formed in 1977 under Jimmy Carter to help wean the U.S. off of foreign oil.

It's budget in 2012 was 30.6 BILLION dollars of taxpayer money.

It's now 39 years leter and the DOE is still sucking up money and have we ever been weaned off of foreign oil???

No wonder its time for Trump to deep six this and several other useless Government Departments.

Wouldn’t apply to this situation. Seppuku would demand that the person have a sense of honor and dignity. EPA “employees” have neither.

As the saying goes, directed to these people, “Cry me a river”.

Well, maybe not.

The pollution would be awful.
