I see that Snopes fails to mention the book release where it was said he was born in Kenya.
That release was in 1991, as I recall.

Clinton’s surrogates use a post from an internet site, and the site gets blamed! Regardless, Clinton used the issue long before Trump.

Oh ok, so according to Snopes a couple of Internet posts started the WHOLE thing. Hillary’s team read these specific posts and said “Hey! That’s something to investigate!”

Snopes attempting to rewrite history in the age of the internet is laughable. Once on the internet, you can’t expunge and rewrite history. Snopes needs Snopes.
The last birth certificate from Hawaii was proven doctored. The state official in charge of such things was quieted in a ‘plane crash’, where no one else died.

(Obama's own book publicists claimed that he was born in Kenya from 1991 until 2007 -- 16 years. And nobody knows what he claimed on his college and law school applications.)

For what it's worth, at this point its a bit too damn late to argue who claimed odumbo was born in Kenya, the U.S. in some city dump all trying to prove a political point or to claim racism.
