But...but...I thought 0bama's and Hillary's "popularity" would sweep dems into that seat?

At the very least it's a victory for conservatism and bodes well for November.

I pray this is good news for Trump. Probably unrelated. Portman has been polling better than Trump in Ohio for a while. The state is still very winnable for Trump but it could be Portman's coattails bring Trump across the finish line rather than the other way around.

This just might be good news for DJT

Don’t worry. Dims will probably take Pennsylvania, Illinois and New Hampshire. I just hope we end up with at least a 51-49 majority.....it will probably be tied with the VP deciding...that would be awful.

but I have heard over and over again, that because of Trump the R’s were going to almost certainly lose every house and senate seat....

I like this AP news, for a change. We have been inundated with polling sites and internet sites I have never heard of just for a morsel of good news. Yawn.
This is a very good post. Thanks for hunting it down.

Considering it's not even September, the internal polling must be really bad.

Dims will probably take Pennsylvania,....Toomey is done. Anti 2nd, pro Obama and for crony capitalism. A real disappointment.

I hope so, but I have two co workers who are super conservative and say they will not vote for Trump although they are voting down ticket. I am doing my best to convince them. One of them is a die hard Glenn Beck fan!! God help me!!!

They are saying that about Georgia as well.

My best friend works at a bank. She said many libs there refuse to vote for Hillary and are going to vote for Trump. She also told me it’s being said at the bank that around election time, the housing market will tank by some 20% and the economy will weaken.

Strickland never had a chance, Portman is unspectacular but waging an effective campaign and will hold the seat for the gop. I guess that means it's good for Trump. It certainly is not bad news.
