The Polish foreign minister has said that Germany all too often follows its own interests at the expense of its partners, as Chancellor Angela Merkel prepares to visit Warsaw. [ ]
Merkel is set to arrive in Warsaw on Friday for talks with Prime Minister Beata Szydlo, as well as the heads of state of the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary. The quartet have had increasingly tense relations with Berlin since Germany took in hundreds of thousands of migrants last year and started pushing for an EU-wide quota system, whereby refugees would be redistributed across the union.
But foremost on Waszczykowskis mind was another point of ongoing tension: relations with Russia. He accused Germany of pushing ahead with plans for a gas pipeline through the Baltic Sea primarily for political reasons. [ ]
Waszczykowski also called for Germany to play a more active role in maintaining European security and defense.

Sorry...I love the Poles and am not a huge fan of the Germans but, assuming “self serving” means protecting their borders,I’m siding with the Krauts.
It doesn’t mean that.
It’s precisely the opposite.
Germany’s Welcome Mat for Muslims affects the rest of the Continent.
We’ll see about “borders” when millions of Volksdeutsche flee their country for Poland.
Will Merkel use her own Walther PPK when the EU dies ?
Yah,I noticed that after I posted.Sometimes it's unwise to assume.
Hanging head in shame...
I don't know what the Poles are fretting about , everybody knows you can trust the Germans, especially the politicians, military and police.

Got it.
The specific concern that Poland and the other countries have is that with a Baltic Sea gas pipeline from Russia, Germany will get preferential price and delivery terms for their energy supply while the others get gouged and subjected to political pressures that undermine their economic and military security. A Russian-German alliance has long been advocated by some Russian strategists as the next logical step in Putin’s drive to expand Russian state power.
Merkel’s policies on refugees are a threat to Poland and to all of Europe. She does not consult her neighbors before formulating the policy, she is all bullying and bluster.
The "Krauts" did NOT protect their borders, Merkel let in the invaders and welcomed them. Now, that they are within Germany, because of their "shengen"(?sp), these people can travel and relocate to other European countries. This is what the Poles (and other Eastern European nations) are complaining about. They did not get a say or a choice in what she did. She did it unilaterally, and they know it will affect their countries as well.
