I take no pleasure in this. Instead, I hope this incident will help contribute to the public finally reaching a breaking point, and saying to the PC police, "Shut up already. Just shut up."

I love the editorializing in the original Yahoo story - they come right out and say of course no one would ever believe that DeGeneres was a racist because all her life she’s fought for equal rights and even had this Bolt guy on her TV show - what a far cry from Trump, who’s also hired all matter of people for his projects and promoted many “minorities” to high level positions, but is branded a racist and misogynist for calling out some women and immigrants.....

I find it funny, and I think the real racists are the people whose minds immediately went to race. That said, Ellen is a card carrying member of the liberal media/Hollywood who are the biggest promoters of “social justice.” She found out that she is not immune from the same standards that they use to go after people - usually conservatives. She is being hoisted on her own petard - a victim of the identity politics espoused by her fellow liberals.

I take great pleasure in this! All of her excuses are essentially, "But I'm a Liberal!" I.e., "Give me a pass, because I have the 'right' political orientation!" Implying that if a Conservative were to have done this, he should still be lambasted.
