I’m still surprised they want to build command bunkers near Moscow, given I’ve read just the Moscow region could be target with 20+ nuclear warheads. Wouldn’t it be better to be deep underground far away from Moscow?

The ABM treaty allowed each country to decide where to place its anti-ballistic missile defense. The US put our ABMs around our missile fields. Moscow put theirs around ... Moscow.
This belies the Russian ‘promise’ of never being the first to use ICBMs. There was no need to protect Russian missile silos from an American strike because the missiles will have been already launched by Moscow, in a first strike. They chose to brace for a counter-strike, protecting the Kremlin.

The Moscow bunkers will be connected to the others far away.

I wonder if the 80s still wants it’s foreign policy back.

They will probably offer Russia some migrants to run the new underground bunkers.

Russia will eventually nuke the Kaaba.
Putin will not allow Europe to be filled with enough Muslim invaders that they can attack Russia.
So if he has to, he’ll nuke Europe too.
His attitude is: they’re not coming to Russia.
Period.

Have to be able to get to the bunkers in the flight time of a nuclear missile.

I don’t blame them for building them. Soros is paying very good money for the US to go to war against Russia.

If I'm a native European, I would throw my lot with the Russians. At least I would drink vodka and the women are hot.

If you surprised that bunch by firing off a single round of 5.56 nearby, they’d probably all wet their pants.

They do have underground facilities far from Moscow, in the southern Urals. Yamantau Mountain has been discussed since the 1990s.
The Russians have never really stopped their defensive planning, despite the so-called end of the Cold War.

The US had a weapons system that could threaten Russian command and control bunkers. This system also threatened Russian silo based missiles. The LGM-118 Peacekeeper missiles had the accuracy to reduce Russia's retaliatory strikes against the US. 100 missiles, each with 10 warheads. The Peacekeeper was labeled a ‘first strike’ weapon. The US dismantled all of the Peacekeeper missiles due to an arms control treaty. Yet, as has been mentioned, Russia itself also has a first strike strategy.

“Russian doctrine states that tactical nuclear weapons may be used in a conventional response scenario,”
But, we were just wanting to fight them there -without- it ever going nuclear!
It’s pretty obvious they have a policy of no more Napoleons, no more Nazis, etc. Any invasion from the east will clearly get nuked. I hope we have the same policy.
