Lots of reasons which boil down to Russia was gaining Europe as a great partner US doesn’t like that.... Nato continues it expansion and Regime change throughout countries, Russia gets in the way of that,... and.... it’s now ‘Policy” to blame Russia for anything as a means of diversion.

Yes Putin’s always been against the Islamic terrorists, however... he too will use certain groups to retain and sustain his power when advantageous to do so. It’s not often but he’s not beneath that either.
Isis is another beast than the standard terrorist...and it is those ‘everybody’ except Muslim Middle Easterns opposes.
