CLEVELAND, Ohio – Nina Turner, the Democratic former state senator from Cleveland who has emerged as a rallying figure for Bernie Sanders' disappointed supporters, said she is considering an offer to run for vice president on the Green Party's national ticket.

Massachusetts physician Jill Stein, the party's presumptive presidential nominee, reached out with the pitch, Turner told cleveland.com Sunday evening in a telephone interview.

The Green Party opens its convention Thursday in Houston. Turner would stand for nomination there if she agrees to be Stein's running mate. Her decision is expected in the coming days.

Bernie! Bernie! Bernie!

Bern is foolish to trade a few planks in the Dem platform for his half-hearted endorsement of Hillary. He’s 74, and he’ll never be heard from again at the national level.

Proud Mary Tina? Bet she’d get a lot of hippies and even young stoners to vote against the man (or woman in this case) :)

She was a former state senator from Ohio, the Cleveland area. She’s actually a very good public speaker, very feisty.

She is a Black democrat from Cleveland. She might well drain off a few black Hillary voters from Cuyahoga County, where she is well known, if she runs on the Green ticket.

But I never saw the good side of a city, ‘til I hitched a ride on the Green Party line.

Just checked votesmart.org for Nina Turner's record on the environment, since she might now be VP for the Green Party. Only indication I saw is that she voted "nay" about limiting water being taken from Lake Erie. I thought environmentalists wanted to keep the water in the lake.

Hmmm....so the Green Party isn't about the environment anymore, Libertarians have been taken over by cheap labor globalists, and the dems are the Anti-Civilization Party.

Wow. Trump is the only Nationalist who's running for President.

And, of course, planks are an airy nothingness.

Yes, and the Democrats, very foolishly, treated her badly because she liked Sanders.

She is a seriously honest opponent of the rigged system and we all should respect her mission.

In fact, Sanders shot himself by endorsing Clinton. She will be the one to step in.

The two party system is killing us.

Promises, promises... the planks are only dimly remembered.

“I thought it was TINA turner.”

I’m sure that many of the few that vote that ticket do, too.

Hmmm... A way to divert African-American voters from Hellery?
