Donald Trump's campaign reached out to John Kasich in May with an offer to make him the "most powerful vice president in history," the New York Times reported Tuesday.
Trump's oldest son, Donald Trump Jr., reached out to a Kasich advisor after the Ohio governor ended his own presidential campaign, promising that if he accepted the vice presidency, Kasich would be in charge of domestic and foreign policy.
The advisor asked what Trump would be in charge of, the report said, and Trump Jr. responded: "Making America great again."

Could be echos of Reagan’s offer to Ford in 1980.
So does Trump.
I can’t see this as happening—Trump’s ego alone will keep this from happen. I see Pence as an advisor—have some special roles besides his influence in Congress and the Senate.

They’re ultimately in alignment on amnesty. Not quite sure how far apart on the wall.
Trump recently tweeted that Kasich was never offered the VP position. I know who I’m going to believe. Pence was his choice from the beginning. Bobby Knight influence.
