Cooch was for rule changes long before Cruz or Trump came along.
But he’s played this VERY badly.
In fact there may have been some changes if he hadn’t aligned with the ‘never-Trump’- that forced all Trump supporters to align with the RNC against him.
Anger is not a plan.
But that WAS the plan. Forcing Trump to align with the RNC so now Senator Cruzman Sachs can ride into Cleveland as the “true” grass roots conservative leader. Transparent as can be, IMO.

The RNC used them to corral Trump’s supporters against rules chanhges.
Ted used them to ‘contrast’ himself from Trump.
Trump used them to ‘contrast’ himself from Cruz (IMO this protects Trump from ‘too conservative’ meme)).
Everybody used them- and all they got was a little media attention- more than they deserved.
