Illegal immigrant households tapping into the federal food stamp program are receiving $1.4 billion to $2.1 billion a year despite their ineligibility, according to a new analysis of the Agriculture Department program.
And rules guiding who can get food stamps favor households with illegal immigrants over all-U.S. citizen homes, according to the detailed report from the Center for Immigration Studies released Monday morning.
CIS expert David North has determined that 460,000 to 700,000 households with mix of legal and illegal immigrants are participating in the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program, or SNAP.

I don’t think we should have federal government welfare, but if we do then citizens should obviously enjoy preferential treatment, even to the exclusion of all others.

George Bush didn’t start this. I worked for food stamps 35 years ago and we were doing it then. The children of illegals have always received aid. There just weren’t as many then as now.

Is there massive fraud in all handouts? The real problem is the handouts.
Solution: Dont tax wages of the working poor. No FICA, no employers share. Total wages go to the worker.
Unlike a minimum wage, this does not hurt employers or consumers.
Of course, also end EITC, food stamps and other welfare.
