Potential Trump VP on Abortion: 'Women Have to Be Able to Choose'
NBC News ^ | 7/10/16 | VAUGHN HILLYARD and CARRIE DANN

Donald Trump is formally vetting a retired general as a potential running mate, but the 33-year Army veteran's views on social issues are sure to draw an outcry from Republicans already wary about Trump's conservative credentials.

Retired Lt. Gen Michael T. Flynn, who most recently served as the director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, is being vetted as a last-minute addition to Trump's pool of possible vice presidential picks, NBC News confirms.

I am cautious about believing anything the media reports. I see the Yahoo! leftards are also trumpeting this story.

I will wait and see what the truth is.

But if this is "as reported", then it'll be difficult for me to get up on the second Tuesday next November and go vote.

We're not a party that celebrates infanticide. If that is what some "general" wants to represent, then I'll continue to celebrate my citizenship in the Celestial City of Heaven while not pretending to vote and make no difference in this crumbling Republic's political process.

First of all, what is reported in the libtard media should be taken not with a grain of salt, but a big damn box of salt.

Second, if Flynn DID end up Vice President, he’s not going to be in a position to do one thing or another so far as abortion is concerned.

The Bush women (Barbara, Laura, etc) were all closet pro-choicers, and they had little to zero impact on the issue.

This would be a poor choice for VP. Trump needs an experienced political hand to complement his lack of experience navigating the snake pits of Washington.

Agreed — women have the right to choose not to have sex. Not to procreate with anyone who won’t be the father.

No one, man or woman, has the right to kill the unborn.

The msm tells you to dance to their abortion tune, and right on que, you dance. Every damn time, don’t you ever get tired of being manipulated?

Flynn on the morning talk shows today was talking Islamic terrorism, and illegal immigration. No PC BS

Yea, I guess Hillary would be better...don’t want to compromise ‘principle’ do we.

Fortunately, Hillary is pro-life.

“Second, if Flynn DID end up Vice President, he’s not going to be in a position to do one thing or another so far as abortion is concerned.”

Would that logic apply if he was in favor of gun control?

And, YES, absolutely the general IS PRO-CHOICE!
It’s not a “libtard media” thing, he just said so on NBC.

Flynn has little to no impact on the abortion issue. He can be an invaluable resource on the other two issues

no, my point is there would be little or no difference.

i am conservative. this position is not.

his presence on the ticket, if this report is true, will definitely affect whether/if/how I vote.

If Flynn is truly pro-choice and if he was Trump’s choice for VP, then I could only conclude that Trump is at the best weak on the issue of abortion or worse lying about being pro-life.

I’d stay home in November.

The guy’s a Democrat through and through. Interviewed today he kept saying a leader has to be more courageous than to go with ideology on either side.

The perfect perfumed general sucking up to whatever guy might give him the next promotion.

Didn’t vote. Won’t say that he’s registered as a Republican. Says he’s pro-choice.

He’s also clearly not ready for prime time.

If he wants to get tough on immigration or the Islamic threat in a Trump administration, fantastic. But there is absolutely no way this guy should be Trump’s VP pick.

Note that former presidential candidate Rubio had also made a PC statement about women having the right to do with their bodies as they please in one of the debates.

But also note that the states had ratified the 18th Amendment (18A), later repealed by the 21st Amendment, 18A effectively prohibiting citizens from drinking alcoholic beverages. So the idea that citizens can do with their bodies as they choose in not a constitutionally enumerated right.

Also note that the ill-conceived 17th Amendment (17A), in conjunction with the 19th Amendment (19A), 19A effectively giving women the right to vote, helped to foster the fictitious constitutional “right” to have an abortion.

More specifically, low-information women voters don’t understand that the states have never delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to regulate, tax and spend for abortion purposes.

And corrupt federal politicians have been taking advantage of the 17A and 19A, using these amendments to win elections by promising women unconstitutional federal funding for abortions.

It’s too bad that retired Lt. Gen Michael T. Flynn’s military training evidently didn’t include a thorough study of the Constitution.

Fantastic. So when are economy is in the crapper, illegals and terrorists are taking over and destroying our country, and cops are being hunted in the open street as law enforcement is nationalized and BLM is radicalized, you can feel better because you didn’t vote for the person who could stop that, simply because you are a single issue voter.

I hope you enjoy the 3rd world nation you will be welcoming.
