There are many things one can say about a man who publicly mocks the service of American POWs who were tortured.I think you remember wrongly.
Trump said that being a POW does NOT automatically make anyone a HERO.

What’s with the pleading, as if Christians as a whole have a problem with Trump? As I recall, Trump received a majority of the evangelical Christian vote in the south, that was expected to go to Cruz. Is this related to former Cruz supporters?

“Ive been back long enough to witness some of the Cruz/Trump supporters battles, if thats what you are referring to.”
Across the decades that I have been doing this, stretching back to “letters to the editor,” I had formed opinions about the way conservatives argue, and the very different ways that libtards argue.
Then I noticed that when a conservative was mistaken about something, he argued that point in the same way a liberal argues. I tentatively concluded that when one is wrong, that is the only style of argumentation available, that the conservative style of argumentation is suitable only for arguing something that is true.
As with conservative/libtard arguments, both sides in the Trump/Cruz war were accusing the other of acting badly, but only one side was actually acting badly. (That’s the way I saw it, and I’m going to believe my lying eyes.)
It was quite a surprise to see people I had respected as conservative suddenly acting like libtards on CompuServe circa the 1990s.

May I assume that you have been on the Trump train....?
I’ve thought for a long time that a thirst for truth is the most valuable possession anyone can have, and no one can steal it from you. A person of good character, when discovering a belief is untrue, will be humble enough to admit it - “I was wrong, and now I’m learning the truth - good!”
Sometimes it may sting to realized how wrong I was, but the relief of the burden by now underestanding the truth is well worth it.
People who refuse to look at facts and thus cling to lies are unbearable to be around, in Real Life or onilne.

Adding - I also was surprised to see members here who I had considered quite rational, acting as though they’d gone stark raving mad.

I think the diseducators try. They tell the kids, “All good people believe X; don’t even think about anything else, and don’t listen to anything else.”
“Sometimes it may sting to realized how wrong I was”
Oh, it do sting. You’d think I’d be used to it by now, but...

“Historically Republicans get around 25% of the Jewish vote.”
That is so hard for me to understand. I have heard democrats say so many awful things about Jews but I have never heard Republicans do so.

We certainly don’t need what we have, a pretender who creates a meme that he is a Christian while acting as an obvious follower of Islam and enemy of Christians.
