On Monday night - the day before California’s primary election - the Associated Press announced Hillary Clinton had finally secured enough delegates to win the Democratic Party nomination.

I wonder if the “big announcement” last night depressed Bernie’s turnout in today’s primaries. It seems that this was the end result they were looking for.
The problem with that theory is that previous primary exit polls have shown that Sanders voters are about twice as motivated as Clinton voters. They will show up no matter what because they are hoping for a Clinton indictment by the Justice Department and a flipping of Superdelegates from Clinton to Sanders.
A big win in California would make the case even stronger. California Clinton voters are much more likely to not show up if she alreafy has it in the bag.
Early yesterday morning, some of us were saying that this was con job by Hill and her pet mediots to lessen the vote for Sanders in California and other states.

Make this announcement before the California primary to keep Sander’s voters from voting. The announcement was based on a survey apparently not an official count of delegates.

IIRC, there was story about this a week ago. The original date for the premature, and preplanned announcement was early in the day on the 7th.
Either way the intent is to discourage the CA voters from going to the polls.
