The National Football League has hired a former White House press secretary in the Bill Clinton administration. Joe Lockhart was named today the league's new executive vice president of communications.
NBC Sports calls the hire "insulation for commissioner Roger Goodell."

I encountered this guy one time back in Fall of ‘99. I didn’t meet him, we were just at the same place and time at the WH.
He’s much shorter than he appears on TV, a very dumpy man. Hunched over and thinking of other things was my impression. I have no idea how he could have been the face of the Xlintons. I guess the right camera angle makes anyone look good.
I find it interesting that he’s suddenly back in the news. He’s leasing a multi-million dollar house in DC to Our Dear Leader.
How the heck does a mid-grade, flash in the pan, civil servant earn enough money to buy a four million dollar house in DC? And then rent it out to a (soon to be) ex President?????

As I recall the NFL indicated it would reject Rush being part of a group which wanted to buy the Rams.
Potential NFL owners have to be approved by a 3/4 vote of the other owners, to be allowed to buy into an NFL franchise. I assume it was legal for the NFL to set up their organization that way.
Anybody else remember more details about Rush and his group bidding on the Rams. As I recall they were told Rush would not be approved . I don’t think it ever went to a formal vote though.
