I had Windows 7 and upgraded to 10 and I am not looking back.
I installed Linux and I got a popup saying my Windows 10 upgrade was ready. (Just kidding.) ;-)
I’ve installed Never 10.
I don’t see Microsoft nagware urging me to upgrade.
I walked away from my computer for a few minutes, and when I came back Windows 10 was being installed.
Using a Virtual Box clone of your proper setup of win7 allows a quick delete if win10 strikes and a reclone of the proper setup. 5 min., max.
It just did it to me.
Apparently it says, if you don’t want to upgrade click here, or something.
If one is not in front of the machine to see the alert, it thus upgrades without your consent.

Obama said, “If you like your Windows 7 operating system, you can keep your Windows 7 operating system.” ;-) Or was that Bill Gates?
MS needs to be hauled into court in a class-action suit.
My wife had the same thing happen today as she was trying to get work done - see was PO’d at Microsoft - very deceptive.
I use a utility program named GWX Control Panel from the Ultimate Outsider website. It helps make sure that Windows does not get you into Windows 10 when you do not want to.
Users who depend upon DOS support should be careful about a Windows 10 upgrade. I found that it does not support redirection of output such as in “type file > outputfile”.
But I did find that Oracle’s VirtualBox lets me do many DOS functions under a Windows XP 32 bit virtual machine.
OH FFS, the author should just stop whining and accept his new PC Overlords.......advertisements in the Start Menu and all!
I turned off upgrades on both my Win 7 machines before I even connected them to the internet.
“Oh, but you might get malware or viruses from evil people out there!” Yeah, you mean like Microsoft?
We got two new laptops November a year ago with Win 8.1. We use Classic Shell to make 8.1 look like Win 7 & want to stay where we are. After the nagging to upgrade started, GWX Control Panel was installed on both laptops & so far, so good .... nagging stopped & downloaded files to convert to Win 10 on one laptop were removed.
I upgraded and my system behaves faster.
My main machine is now Fedora Linux with KDE desktop. It is still a little grumpy compared to Windows, but this is now a fully functiona and slick system. I still have to use Microsoft Word for some applications (I write books, LibreWrite is fine otherwise). Otherwise I am free at last. No viruses, no Microsoft tax, plenty of specialty software. And it will only get better.
What is the problem with windows 10?
windows 10 is great if you have the balls to accept the present
HEY! Microsoft.
I'm giving you the Magical Middle Widget Finger!
I'm STAYING on Windows 9.7!
I have no problems with Windows 10.
thanks to my IT department for protecting me....
