Interesting, but Coats is a total stiff, and brings nothing useful to the ticket (Indiana is going red, short of Mao as Veep).

Kasich wouldn’t be bad, I just don’t think he’ll do it. All the conventional wisdom has been against Trump, and there is no audience that has the willies worse than the sorts of political insiders he will need to tap. He needs someone willing to take the risk, and I don’t see that in Kasich.

Coats is very able and if I’m right (which I’ve no reasonable expectation of being, really), he’s had enough of the Bush doctrine and might take the risk because he might not give a crap about threats being issued not to give aid and comfort to the Donald.
