Ben Carson--who the Washington Post called the both best and worst campaign surrogate of all time--revealed that former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, among many others, is on Donald Trump's shortlist for potential running mates.

[...]He had just explained to the reporter riding along that he wanted no role in a Trump administration when news arrived of a new poll naming him as the best liked of a list of potential running mates. “Who else was on the list?” he asked quietly, maintaining his usual inscrutable calm. The most favorably regarded contenders after himself, he was told, were John Kasich, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, Sarah Palin and Chris Christie. “Those are all people on our list,” he said. “Well, not you,” Candy reminded him sharply. That the Trump

OK, no sober voter would want to return to 2008. Palin is 2008.

It’s a no win situation from the MSM, which is why Palin might be a very good choice.

I agree. Trump must have a vp that the gop wants less than him. Otherwise, they will try to impeach him, or worse. That leaves a very short list. Also, someone under 70 would be nice as well. I can’t think of anyone else that fits that bill except Palin.

Going from bad to worse, eh?

I be sober since '88. I'd love to return to 2008 and would know what to do.

Try again.

Well, all I mean in this context is that running a relic like Palin from a time where the GOP fabulously failed isn’t a wise idea.

Oh good Lord, Trump can’t seriously be considering her... I can see her throwing her name out there for shock value and owning a cycle or two of the press... but no way in hell, he’s seriously considering her for VP.

If we wanted to run a stiff like Palin in 2016, why not just nominate a smiling designated loser like Ted Cruz?

Its not just the GOP that doesn’t want her
It is almost all the democrats
She is NOT a draw for women

What a lost opportunity to get crossover voters who would vote for Trump but are extremely unfavorable toward Palin
She is not an asset as VP
Cabinet position - Energy Dept maybe

Then she can work to earn some creds as a national political leader

I love Sarah, but if he’s serious about winning then he will not do this!

Hey, I like her. But she’s not a credible candidate. Maybe she can be part of a GOP administration, though.

You have to understand, Men like Palin. Women, not so much. For many women who hate Hillary, they would vote for her if Palin is on the other ticket.

I like Tulsi Gabbard, she is pro-military and very conservative for a democrat. If you want a women, try her. She is one that women can like. And men too.

Unfortunately...

I’m thinking electability. Two polarizers on a ticket would make it difficult to win.

I think you are right....Palin needs to be rehabilitated in the public eye after the pounding that the democrats did to her and the backstabbing that the neocons did. I hope that trump gives her a position just not the vice presidency.

To those who claim Sarah Palin has “too much baggage”.

Too much baggage is code for “I’m a chickenshit conservative”.

Two polarizers on a ticket would make it difficult to win.

Because you designate Trump and Palin as "polarizers". Sure.
