red square?...how appropriate
The Lenin statue is one of my favorite Seattle artifacts (the Troll is another) and a thing I used to take guests to see. Irony on so many levels...
I found the name humorous when I first stepped onto that square of red brick in 1973 when I had a part-time job at UW after leaving the Army.
All forms of Leftist thought--to a great extent--assume that you can change people's personalities & predilections by re-engineering their social environment. You find different nuances of this in different approaches; but Communists, Nazis, Social Democrats & politically correct Democrats and "never/Trump" type Republicans, all suffer to a considerable extent from a Compulsion For Uniformity, and see "education" as a major tool in suppressing resistance, as well as for purposes of indoctrination. The make believe fantasy that anyone can benefit from College--made possible, in part, by special studies--is part of their tool box.
No, immature students. How these children ever got into a university is beyond me, I'm not certain that they can tie their own shoes.
That would be the Fremont District in Seattle. It was the last holdout of 'hippies' in Seattle. Nice area, until it got gentrified by the Adobe rich kids.
The Lenin statue is in the Fremont area of Seattle, just a stone's throw west of the UW campus. I-5 runs between them.
