Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump believes that leading Southern Baptist Convention ethicist Russell Moore is a "truly a terrible representative" of Evangelicalism.
The Manhattan billionaire businessman-turned-politician, who frequently takes to Twitter to attack the character of his critics and opponents, lashed out at the president of the Southern Baptist Convention's Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission with a sharply worded tweet Monday morning.
"@drmoore Russell Moore is truly a terrible representative of Evangelicals and all of the good they stand for. A nasty guy with no heart!" Trump tweeted at 5:05 a.m. EST Monday morning.

The skill that Trump has is ripping the sheepskin off the wolf.
Writing commentary isn’t the same as having the heart of God, and living it. Marching piously to religion isn’t the same as having the heart of God, either.
As a Southern Baptist myself, Trump is 100% correct.
Praying for Trump is commanded by God even for those of us who loath him.
What is it that Mr. Moore did to earn the label of “terrible”?
<< Freeper friends— I am an evangelical pastor who doesn’t want to sit out this election or vote third party, but is having a hard time with Trump as a representative of the cultural rot I am so disheartened about. Help me process what is going on with these two. >>
I am SO with you.
Is “Trump or Hillary” really hard to process?
That’s right. I’m not sure what your point is. My pastor has never endorsed anyone and didn’t want it to look like he was endorsing Trump just because a video showed he prayed for him. There were no videos of the other candidates he prayed with.
No, that’s not how it works on a discussion board.
The poster launched into a personal attack on the pastor without reference to, or apparently any knowledge of, the basis of Mr. Trump’s insult.
true that
Sorry my source for that apparently is the equivalent on the Onion.
The quotation is accurate
well said
I think Moore is mad because Trump is against illegal immigration. To him it is unChristian. Also, keeping immigrant/refugee Muslims out “until we know what is going on” is looked down upon by people like Moore. They have adopted the open border ideology of the globalists. Many are into Chrislam as well.
I am a Christian and I think this is wrong headed on Moore’s part. It is heartless to ignore all the Americans injured and killed by open borders.
Sorry.
I was unaware that it is the equivalent of The Onion
The quotation remains true
A spiritual problem cannot be fixed by political means
Politics is NOT religion. Accordingly I consider political decisions based on my world view which is formed by my spiritual view. I don’t need pastors telling me I will burn in hell if I vote X or don’t vote Y. I also don’t need them telling me what my political view point should be
You must not read headlines.
<< Is Trump or Hillary really hard to process? >>
No, I’m in. I’d just like to be more enthusiastic about it. I don’t like Trump on matters of faith and religious liberty — I like him on the other issues, for the most part.
Yes, evangelicals are no different than Hillary supporters. Way to win people over to your side.
I was initially cheered by your post, as I have long thought of Moore as a wolf in sheep’s clothing, but the drunk and disorderly charge was only cited by a christian satire site. If one reads their article, it really is obvious satire.
