Sen. Bernie Sanders has proposed paying for his proposals to transform large sectors of the government and the economy mainly through increased taxes on wealthy Americans. A pair of new studies published Monday suggests Sanders would not come up with enough money using this approach, and that the poor and the middle class would have to pay more than Sanders has projected in order to fund his ideas.

The studies, published jointly by the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center and the Urban Institute in Washington, concludes that Sanders's plans are short a total of more than $18 trillion over a decade. His programs would cost the federal government about $33 trillion over that period, almost all of which would go toward Sanders's proposed system of national health insurance. Yet the Democratic presidential candidate has put forward just $15 trillion in new taxes, the authors concluded.

We are all going to be working in socialist collectives if he’s elected, and won’t need to be paid, so all our earnings can go to pay for free stuff.

$17 Trillion?! That's nothing! It's easy, just mint 17 trillion dollar coins. /NYT "economist" Paul Krugman

Since when is 18 trillion a big deal to a lib?! We just print more money and tax the rich at 99%. Oh, and raise minimum wage to $25.00. Confiscate and sell everyone’s guns and ammo to China or Russia. Cut back the military by 90%. That way, other countries believe us when we say “peace”! Snatch 401k’s. There’s a lot of ways the sick and twisted mind of a liberal can come up with to pay for Bern’s goofball ideas!!

Just as with unconstitutional Obamacare, low-information Beanie’s health care plan is also short the required constitutional amendment giving the feds the specific power to tax and spend for INTRAstate healthcare purposes.

Laugh if you want, but ultimately we will end up doing what Krugman proposed.

The entire world economy now relies on our printing press.
No one now dares getting in its way.

15 trillion in new taxes equates to $150,000 for each of the hundred million Americans (roughly speaking) who now pay significant taxes. (that’s 0.1 billion times 150 thousand, a thousand billion being a trillion so 0.1 x 150 is 15 of those.

That’s a lot of new taxes there Bernie baby, especially on a gross average income of maybe half that (for the taxpayers).

Bill Gates is going to have to mortgage Microsoft if this is all going to happen.

The Washington Pest is concerned about Government monies?? With Obama they don't give a hoot. But since they've gotten the word, Bernie is fair game.

But oh, how the worm turns!

It's cool. I know a little guy in Zimbabwe who can help us out.

He does charge interest.
