I was jolted in my mind, almost like experiencing a car wreck, suddenly and without any warning. This totally incongruous sound intruded upon and encompassed everything, causing even the birds to rustle in the darkness.

Exactly...Quite few of the inhabitants of the ME are not far removed from the Bronze Age...They know no different...They just follow blindly who they think are their “leaders”...
Hindus/Buddhists are not considered “people of the book”, they are pagans and eligible for persecution and/or execution when the opportunity presents itself.
Christians & Jews are afforded dhimmitude or conversion to Islam.
Islam, as we know is a sadistic, anti-human abomination worthy only of extinction. It is a serial murderer of entire peoples and cultures. We must Crusade against Islam and its followers until Allah is worshipped only in hell.

I think Hindus are the most effective antidote to Islam; they are not prohibited by Judeo-Christian morality from killing them wholesale.
