Will this stem the MSM's flood of deserved praise for Prince? It turns out that Touré--better known in these parts as a former spoke in MSNBC's since-cancelled Cycle--is also a Prince biographer, his book published in 2013.
Appearing on With All Due Respect today, Touré cited two sources: Prince's former sound engineer, and a member of his band, for the proposition that Prince was a "conservative" and a "Republican." Touré embraced the notion himself, but offered a pejorative notion of what it means to be a conservative: "I am making money, I'm successful, I want this money and this success protected . . . When you are rich, you want status quo."

I love how Prince guarded his music. Too many artists would sell their Mother for a nickel and a music video, but Prince was having none of it. Prince also hated YouTube, Spotify, and digital downloads. Not only was he a legend, he was a throw-back as well.

Why the hell was the little peter-puffer in Baltimore last year singing a specially written eulogy/love song to Freddie Gray and Michael Brown? A song where he mentions them both by name? Did he sing for the lives of the cops destroyed by these thugs?

All these artists have to have a "keeping it real" moment. Obviously, I don't agree with Prince giving a concert to thugs, but it still doesn't diminish his overall work.
