How come Asian cartoon characters don’t look Asian? Just asking?

I think they do, but you are probably focusing on narrow, slitted eyes for your Asian cartoon feel, but, eyes have to be opened wide and all sparkly for manga-like cartoons. It causes perceptual conflict.

I was recently in The Philippines and Taiwan and so much of their advertising have models whom appear very much westernized with lighter skin tones, hairstyles, dress, etc.

I’ve always wondered the same thing. Asian features disappear in Asian cartoons.

For the same reason why so many Korean, Chinese and Japanese TV and movie stars look less Asian than many common every day Asians.

What is that reason? I honestly think that Asians (just like blacks and hispanics) secretly think whites (Europeans) are more attractive overall.
