He will be the presumptive nominee when he gets 1237. If Pence endorses Cruz, that will ensure Trump loses Indiana. He will then lose Nebraska, and will fail to clinch the nomination.
If he is the nominee of the party, they are required to support his candidacy, Loyalty works both ways.
It's been reported that it'll take around a billion dollars to compete. Wonder if he expects the GOP to fund him after all the bad mouthing of them he's done.
My guess is that they'll just write off the presidency this round and put the money toward trying to save the Senate. Will be interesting to see what happens.
Trump is self funding his Campaign to become the Republican Nominee.
Once he secures that, the Party Apparatus kicks in to support their Nominee, whether it is Trump or anyone else.
It is no longer Trump against singular Candidates, it becomes Trump and the Republican Party against Hillary and the Democrat Party.
I love how people are trying to make Hay out of this because Trump has and continues to Self Fund.
Once the Convention is over, everything changes.
That being said, I believe that if Trump asked his Supporters for Financial help for the General Election Campaign, he would break all records for Individual Donations. Just a gut feeling.
