Live in CA now. I remember driving around back in the 70’s with my two Rifles in the Gun Rack of my Ford 4x4 Pickup.

When the mood hit me, I would drive up Angeles Crest Highway and go target shooting with my Buddies.

Nobody gave a flying **** about people having Evil Guns.
It was a Free State back then.

I was active in the high school skeet and trap club in 1973. Enjoyed competing in both at the South Bay Rod and Gun club near Brown Field. Still have a trap trophy from that activity. I could buy a box of CCI Mini-mags at K-Mart and go rabbit hunting at 16. Sometimes I just took the .22 cal Benjamin pellet rifle out for rabbits. Either way, there way rabbit on the table and pelts collected.

I left CA in 2001 for Idaho. Recently, our rabbit population has increased. I've updated my rabbit rifle from the old Stevens bolt action that my dad used in Scouts. Haven't been inclined to take a mule deer yet, but they are very easy to find in my area.
