What a waste of time and effort on the part of Hoft. At this point, no Cruz supporter seriously expects him to walk into the convention with 1,237. It’s all about Donald not getting to 1,237 and the resultant open convention.

The RNC is going to have a real problem in July if they block Trump now.

Certainly when it’s mathematically impossible for Cruz and Kasich to win.

Sticking in an Establishment Rat like Paul Ryan or Mitt Romney will certainly be the RNC downfall.

The Establishment needs to man up and quit trying to lie, cheat and steal the Will of the Republican voters.

I think it is becoming clear neither of them will clinch the nomination.

When / if Trump is no longer able to reach 1,237 will he also be “Knocked Out”?

This is a good thing for Cruz because he hasn’t had sex in weeks.

Even though Cruz isn’t at the mathematically impossible point yet, he will be by the end of the month unless he secures over 80% of all delegates. He just a spoiler for the establishment at this point, he cannot win blue states in the general election, he couldn’t even win the south. Yet he has diluted his supporters to think if he gets the votes on 3rd or 4th ballot, that all the people who supported Trump will just magically fall in line for the general...it’s dissappointing to see the party have a chance to rally behind a historic figure, Trump, and just throw it all away...and yes, he has accomplished many historic feats since running.

A little misleading is the title.

Knocked out would mean eliminated from any chance of the presidency. We know that’s not how this crazy system works.

The real truth is that the GOPe will knocked ted and Donald out and put their own man in, then will go on to lose and hope at election time for them, everyone forgets.

If not, at least the ruling powers will stay ruling and that’s all that ever mattered to them.

disgusting.

By the end April it will be clear that Ted Cruz has no chance of reaching the 1,237 delegates needed to win the nomination.

Sorry, but that's not the objective of the game. Cruz doesn't expect to gain 1237 delegates...on the 1st ballot.

The objective is to keep Trump from 1237 on the 1st ballot...and win on a subsequent ballot.

Quite doable...

I wish they could get this right-—Trump, after Missouri’s delegates were awarded has 754.

And so, when and if it becomes clear that Trump won’t reach 1237 either, I suppose he has to drop out too? And then there will be no candidates left in the race. And the delegates can do whatever they want.

Then why does all of this matter? Why even have any more votes? Why don’t you call Cruz and tell him about this article, he can save a lot of his time.

The only thing wrong with this scenario is that it will be equally obvious by then, even to a half-blind commentator like Jim Haft, that Trump ain’t getting there either.

By his actions now Ted Cruz has eliminated his chances to EVER get the nomination in 2024 he can forget that.. He can kiss his future Presidential aspirations goodbye.
