A man was killed and 37 other people were wounded, several critically, in weekend shootings.
No homicides were reported Easter Sunday, which was the outcome desired by South Side religious leaders who advocated an "Easter without murder."
In all, nine people were shot from 3 p.m. Friday to early Saturday; 18 people were shot - one fatally - from Saturday afternoon to Sunday morning; and 11 people were wounded in shootings from Sunday afternoon through Monday morning.

Only one dead? Well they had a quiet Easter after all.
By Bammie-town standards.

It’s moved south to Houston though. Heard on news this morning that we had two more drive-by fatalities during the night. Sharp up-tick in armed robberies also. Surely wouldn’t have anything to do with the millions pouring across the open border.

My town is going to need to work hard to "catch-up" with Chicago, it seems.
It literally takes my little hamlet about 100 years or so to register a murder.

Is it like Disney? No one ever dies at Disney- they are declared dead in the ambulance off-property, or at the hospital.

The experienced hospital emergency room doctors helps keep the death toll lower than one would expect. That and turning the weapon on it’s side to shoot.

Pass more gun laws. That should stop all those shootings.
