Indeed I remember that, and I remember John Edwards denying everything and Gary Hart challenging the media to follow him around, and they did, and they discovered his favorite Chinese dish, Donna-Pork-Fried-Rice, you eat it and 45 minutes later the photographers show up.
Older than that were the antics of Wilbur Mills (D) and the stripper Fannie Foxx in a late night Washington DC fountain romp ala the film La Vita Dolce..,well actually it was more mundane than that. Mills was stopped at 2am or so on suspicion of drunk driving, Mills attempted to flee and fell into a fountain.
