The National Enquirer on Friday reported that Ted Cruz has had multiple trysts with women who aren't the one he described as "the love of my life," wife Heidi Cruz.
"It is garbage, complete & utter lies. It is a tabloid smear and it has come from Donald Trump and his henchmen," the Texas senator told reporters on Friday

Another alleged "mistress," former Cruz communications director Amanda Carpenter, was asked about the report on CNN.
"Talk to my lawyer," she said.

What’s more believable? This story has certainly gotten legs. If it’s not true why would Cruz even dignify it? And why would he blame Trump? Why not threaten to sue the Enquirer? Why not ask for a retraction?
Well ... suppose this NE story is true (just suppose).
If Cruz somehow knew the story would break, then putting out the Melania ad first would make it look like the NE story was pure retaliation.
Maybe she should be called “Randy Mandy”.
No evidence? The one person quoted in the article is Roger Stone, Trump’s Communication’s Director. The owner of the Enquirer is a friend of Donald’s, appropriately named David Pecker.
OK So Trump can play that way with you.. so quit your whining about the National Enquirer... it by Cruz's own rule that Trumps has clean hands
Up to now Trump own his attacks.. he use no proxy... now we attack with the same deniability
Roger Stone only ever served as an adviser to the Trump campaign, and he resigned from that role on August 8th of last year.
But you already knew that.
The good news is that many of the minority of women who were supporting Trump are now saying they’ve had enough.
The reporter doesn’t say he knows there was and affair, only that he can identify two of the women. Two of the women have denied the allegations.
That is really damning. No flat out denial. She is lawyering up already.

I guess Heidi figured it was worth going through the ringer to get to the WH.
The Enquirer knows how to play this game. They will be ready with fresh evidence now that Cruz is on record with a denial. Also to sell mags they want the suspense to drag out.
The key witness will likely be the 1,000 hooker. The others have marriages and careers to save and will lawyer up like Carpenter. BTW who needs a lawyer whether the affair is true or not it’s not a crime? Proves that Carpenter has some guilt about something...
It’s going to be fun watching that snake Cruz go through the stages of deny,lie, admit, repent, etc

I will agree with that, but I do believe that it was acceptable to hit back at Cruz’s wife for Trump, as there are no Trump super PACs any longer to have done this.
Looks like it might be the Democrats. An old story about Cruz and booze in the NE said Democratic operatives were looking into him.

So the NE publishes something others admit they were sitting on, probably saving in case Cruz was the nominee, and Trump has "stepped in it" but when an anti-Trump PAC puts out something with "Vote for Ted Cruz" on it, Ted's held harmless because it was a PAC, not Ted's campaign ?
Now that is the absolute height of double standards, especially when the Cruz campaign itself started the song and dance about how awful it would be to have a First Lady who was born overseas and had been a model who had done a nude photo shoot.
How can anyone say that since the Cruz campaign itself started down the road, the PAC that says, "Vote Cruz" isn't just following in the footsteps of the Cruz campaign ?
Oh, yeah, there's no paperwork passed between the two so that's not coordination, gotcha. The usual Haaarvard lawyer BS of walking on a razors edge and insisting that you're not doing anything wrong.
