NR lost me a long time before they fired Derbyshire.
They suck out loud now.
Mirror, Mirror on the wall who’s the most....
Chris Wallace.. “why YOU and me, of course”
No surprise. NR from its inception has not accepted ads, relying on subscriptions and large donations. Buckley admitted to losing, IIRC, more than $20 million.
So take a guess as to who those donors are these days.
National Review is a street level two-bit blinged-out pimp for the GOP Establishment.
(See, we can name call too....)
NR NEVER stood with Jeff Sessions in the first place. They are part of the GOP sell outs.
However, one claim they made is absolutely true.
NRO IS the intellectual bedrock of the modern "Conservative Movement". NRO originally defined the founding principals of Conservatism and continues to extol the "virtues" of that philosophy unashamedly.
The problem is...the Conservative Movement is little more than a dirty whore. It has no basis in patriotism. Not a nationalist bone in it's body.
"Trade, immigration and intervention", to cite Pat Buchanan from an article last night, has completely destroyed the Conservative Movement. As, on these issues the movement is purely Globalist and will ridicule any and everyone who does not toe their line.
Conservatives and the Conservative Movement are not patriotic and never put America and her interests above all others.
And, YES, I'm also talking about my fellow FReepers. Many of whom still call themselves Conservatives even though they do not subscribe to the tenets of the core philosophy.
"Christian Nationalist" is a better moniker for most of us.
As for the "Conservatives", yes, we have some common goals...but we're taking the keys away and will be driving from now on.
I’m sorry this is not my Republican Party...
Funny how often a statement like is often flipped around to be exactly accurate.
One thing Trump has accomplished is shaking the trees flushing out our true enemies.... National Review is establishment! A wolf in sheeps clothing....,
But many of the GOPe accusations I see on FR are over-the-top too. A Breitbart-NR feud is also over-the-top. Has Trump never said anything that was over-the-top?
Not at all. NRO is starting to make sense to me ...

Hillary, Beck, and the Pope Warned U About Trump
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3403254/posts
Well folks, now that it’s already too late to get the word out, I am taking this time to gloat. I am evil, and Trump is evil. You might as well get ready to face it — your silly republic is doomed.
Glenn Beck warned you that Trump supporters are all brown shirts.
Hillary Clinton warned you that we are part of a vast right wing conspiracy.
The Pope warned you how evil we are as well.
It is actually worse than they know... [snip]
In contrast, the NR staff’s donning of kneepads for Jeb Bush and now for Marco Rubio is a deeply principled act.
Describing a politician as a prostitute is a gross insult to hookers everywhere.
The neocons have gone completely, totally insane over the God Emperor, and I can’t figure out why.
I’ve been watching them on FB for the entire election season. NR has become more and more unhinged by the day. This latest is not surprising.
I used to so look forward to their journal arriving in my mailbox, and they just lost their minds.
I doubt that NR, being for open borders and all, has much love loss for Sessions anyway (so they’ve probably been looking for an excuse to trash him) but this is over the top. For me, a Cruz supporter even, it’s unacceptable to use such terminology to describe his endorsement of Trump.
It was disappointing to say the least he endorsed Trump, shocking really, but calling him names and ascribing cheap motives to the man isn’t going to get anything. It was a loss, period, that he endorsed Trump. A surprising let down but a loss that simply must be acknowledged as such and shouldn’t be explained away with easy invectives. It should be accepted as an adult accepts loss and moves on. He’s just as unimpeachable as Cruz, in terms of his conservatism and morals, to state anything less is sour grapes in the extreme.
Sad to see this.
Rich Lowery is a little fag.
