'Nobody reads the Bible more than me': Trump's claim is a laughing stock
Catholic Online ^ | 2/25/2016 | Kenya Sinclair

On Tuesday, while criticizing the Iran Nuclear Deal, Trump commented that John Kerry "did not read 'The Art of the Deal,'" and that he "probably didn't read the Bible either."

-snip-

Trump's joke led to his claim that "Nobody reads the Bible more than me" - a statement that sent millions of critics into fits of laughter.

Responses came immediately, with recollections of Trump's interview where he claimed the Bible was his favorite book, but then refused to share his favorite verse.

His use of blanket statements and vague comments to shy away from directly answering a single question about the Holy Scriptures led several to believe the presidential hopeful had no idea what he was talking about.

Following his Nevada caucus win, Trump commented, "I love evangelicals," swiftly followed by "I love the poorly educated."

-snip-

How can the Republican candidate claim he loves evangelicals and that the Bible is his favorite book when he can't even properly pronounce 2 Corinthians?

Other gaffes include a visit to a Mainline Protestant church, which supports gay marriage, and mistaking the communion plate for an offering plate.

It is obvious Donald Trump is willing to lie his way to the top. He has stated, on numerous occasions, that evangelicals love him.

No. No we do not.

If Donald Trump is willing to lie about reading the Bible and commanding righteous faith, what other falsehoods has the businessman been spreading? How could his stream of lies affect the United States should he be elected the next American President?

-snip-

With any luck, Americans will wake up and understand that Donald Trump is not the man he claims to be and cannot be trusted to follow through with any of his promises.

Kenya should worry more about the current Pope and not about the next President.

You Cruz supporters are so desperate it's amusing. I hope he loses his home state. No, not Canada.

We’re not electing a religious leader, we’re electing a secular leader, our president.
And so whether or not he reads the Bible is of less of a consequence to me than what’s in his heart and what he will do to fix our country. Posting this nonsense at this juncture is a fool’s mission. Trump, whether you like it or not, has won. You need to get over the fact that Ted Cruz’ “campaign” is on life support and he will be shuttering it within the next 30 days or less. Ditto for Boobio. As for Carson and K-sick, ask me if I care if they stay in the race. They are simply comic relief.

As a thankful Catholic I know it’s not my place to judge whether or not Trump’s statement about how much Sacred Scripture he reads is true or not. That’s between him & God.

Its true-— Trump read the book of ‘Two Corinthians’ dontchyaknow. Just dont ask him to quote any scriptures.
He needs some regular Bible reading sessions with his evangelical friends.
Hey I’m a Trump supporter and early voted for him in Tx.
I dont do kool-aid but he aint no devout christian— however he’s no enemy of christians either.

From one billionaire to another:
When asked about his previous support for Trump, Cuban said, “Everybody’s got that friend that they pick on, that one guy that you know has a good heart and wants to do the right thing but does some of the stupidest sh-t all the time. I actually like him and get along with him, but he’s kinda gone off.”
Excuse the profanity; more at the link:

I truly believe with all my heart that Donald Trump was just making a little fun of himself. Given who he is, how could anyone think this was anything but a joke? But then the leftists, in general, do not seem to have sense of humor, and Trump’s enemies, republican and democrat, are desperate to take anything and everything, no matter how petty or obviously ridiculous, to try to destroy him.

Not much difference between Donald Trump and David Koresh when it comes to the blind devotion of their followers.

I missed the one of Trump in Nevada.

“......in Sparks Nevada. Donald Trump told voters that all the candidates had left the State of Nevada in the morning, and were unworthy of their support.

It is true that Marco Rubio and John Kasich are not in Nevada for the running of the caucuses. Rubio is in Michigan, and Kasich was in Georgia. But there’s a problem for Trump. Trump strongly reacted to the Cruz campaign using a media report in the Iowa Caucuses against Ben Carson, calling Cruz’s victory a fraud.

This time it was Trump himself saying that Cruz had left the state and was not worthy of voters votes for doing so. Multiple tweets from reporters show Cruz in Nevada, speaking at caucuses.”

Oh well???

Then you might want to research both to see the differences which are pointed.

Have a very happy Super Tuesday!

“Not much difference between Donald Trump and David Koresh”

So you admit he knows the bible as well as Koresh?

The problem isn't whether he reads the Bible enough, it is that he says things that aren't true. Truthfulness IS pertinent to the office.
