In February 1980, Reagan was running behind Carter by 29 points (60 to 31) in the polls and no one said he could beat Carter. Well, we know what happened.
Polls right now don’t mean much. Campaigns can and do make a difference.

Trump has 100% name recognition, HE has negatives Reagan never dreamed of.
He throws bombs and goes personal scorched Earth, Alienates everyone but his own supporters.
I am a Cruz voter, given the personal hate spewed by Trump in A General Election for Gary Johnson or the Constitutional candidate over Trump, many others will just stay home.
Yes, I'm disappointed and think Cruz would have been an excellent president, but Trump has his good points. At first, the thought of a Trump presidency was a joke, but have slowly reconciled myself that it is now a distinct possibility.
Trump will be much better than Hillary in ways too numerous to mention. Anyway, I read once that a negative vote is more motivating than a positive one, which is something I agree with.
People will get out and vote against someone quicker than they will get out and vote for someone. While it is true, people will get out and vote against Trump, I also think it is true legions will go and vote against Hillary. I know tons of dems, especially at work and not one likes Hillary. I think Trump will mop the floor with her.
I have to say one of the things I liked a few weeks ago was when Hillary started throwing the sexism charge against Trump. He threw it right back in her face by reminding everyone of Bill's bimbo eruptions. She shut right up and hasn't mentioned it again.
Cruz was asked about the whole episode and Cruz' comment was that he does not comment about innuendos. That was a wrong answer. The democrat hypocrisy is massive and no one calls them on it. No one including Ted Cruz. At least for once, there is someone who does not mind calling it like it is. It will be healthy. For this year, I am happy to vote for the one who is not Hillary.
Besides, I am not the one who chooses the Kings, anyway.
