Cruz challenges Trump's 'make America great again' slogan
Washington Examiner ^ | 2/19/2016 | Ryan Lovelace

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz on Friday challenged the premise of Donald Trump's promise to "make America great again," and asked if Trump knows how America ever became great in his closing pitch to South Carolinians.

Speaking in Myrtle Beach, Cruz launched into an extended diatribe about what he perceived as Trump's lackluster position on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He followed it up with a list of Cruz's campaign promises and a stinging rebuke of Trump's singular message.

"We will see the economy explode, small businesses grow, young people coming out of school with three, four, five job opportunities. Wages going up. You know what? We're going to be winning so much we'll get tired of winning," Cruz said, mimicking Trump's message. "It's easy to say let's Make America Great Again, you can even print that on a baseball cap. The question to ask is, do you understand what made America great in the first place?"

“Texas Sen. Ted Cruz on Friday challenged the premise of Donald Trump’s promise to “make America great again,” “

Totally makes sense: Cruz is in this only for himself just like all other politicians and could care less about making America great again.

Cruz has jumped the shark: all he does is try to tear everyone else down and spends ZERO effort explaining why he might be better than his opponents.

Did you not see the moderator tell Don that his “plans “ would cost trillions?

Just what we need. Obama again.

He’s one senator. All he can do is vote for or against. He’s voted against every time.

No, but I’m pretty sure it has something to do with allowing Canadians to run for president.

Ah.... notice how nobody is now calling Cruz the 'original intent' of the Constitution conservative?

That should shut them up. But they’ll just ignore it and keep spouting their lies.

You should go take a look at the Iowa caucus thread. He was calling out FReepers and demanding that they leave FR.

Actually, those words have been around since Nixons campaign actually coined them themselves in the political sense in their successful efforts to derail his opponents when they hired people specifically for dirty tricks. Those political words werent created especially for Ted. Although, they fit in a number of circumstances.

Logical Fallacy: Appeal to Authority.

This site belongs to Jim, so what he says goes for who’s allowed to post and who’s not. This is true.

However, trying to invoke his name in order to try to win an argument does little more than make me suspect that you have neither facts nor reason on your side.

I really must agree with you Theo.
I have no objection to someone opposing me. Many here have and have posted their reasons why. That’s fine. That’s freedom.
But the bashing, and downright vile posts of some of the Trump Supporters against Cruz are really taking a toll on me emotionally.
I’m just not sure how much more I can take.
Thanks for sharing your feelings.

..In the landmark case of District of Columbia v. Heller, Cruz assembled a coalition of 31 states in defense of the principle that the 2nd Amendment guarantees an individual right to keep and bear arms.
In addition to his victory in Heller...

Cruz wrote the amicus brief for the 31 States,

The actual in Court victory was won in SCOTUS by Hellers own 3 lawyers led by Alan Gura, who actually argued the case before the Court. Cruz was not part of that team at the Supreme Court.

Please, get lost. Put your money where your mouth is, as they said during the 90s.

And take the people calling Trump supporters cultists, the people comparing us to chimps, the spammers, and the hypocrites with you.

But please, leave behind the Cruz supporters who can make an argument or even a conversation without resorting to whining and personal attacks. Maybe then we’ll be able to have actual conversations instead of having to defend against constant insulting contempt.
