Charles Krauthammer analyzes the Saturday night Republican presidential debate moderated by CBS News. Krauthammer said if the previous debates had been World War I or II, then this debate was a thermonuclear war. The syndicated columnist said Trump debated like "a man who was not sitting on the lead" because the candidate engaged with every top candidate.
CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER: If the previous Republican debates have been World War I or II this is is thermonuclear. I have is not seen as many personal attacks or high temperature attacks as we saw in this debate. I am not sure that you can judge the debate on who won or lost on the actual sound bites of who won this exchange or, that that, it was the tone. I think that if you counted up the number of times that the word 'lie' and 'liar' was employed, it would exceed the number of times it has been used in all previous debates.In the end, I thought that Trump was a man who was not sitting on the lead, that's for sure. He was engaged personally with everybody at a very bitter level... with Bush, he was throwing around insults, including the family, and getting incoming as well from all sides. So he didn't sit on the lead. I think he took a risk in being as open and often contemptuous as he was, but I don't think it's going to shake his support. The question is, will it limit his support?

I saw this earlier. Thanks for your post. I was with my mother earlier and was discussing all this after the debate. I see a real ugly thing here in the media. The odd thing is,they all sound the same because they do not like Trump. We hear many like Krathammer express their views about Trump or his supporters. They still haven’t a clue.
Thank you. Your words have deeper meaning than you know. I am ashamed at times for this great nation feeling that we have become so comfortable in daily life that we forget what true courage and sacrifice are. I lost my WWII uncle a few years ago. Until his death I had no idea of what he experienced. He was one of 3 survivors from his Higgans boat after landing on Omaha Beach: he participated in the Battle of the Bulge and the Berlin Air Lift. He never spoke of this to me in life. It took his death to discover the level of his heroism.
It was straight out of Idiocracy.

But take heart......and Press On With Trump Toward the Goal
Last night with the death of Justice Scalia and that battle of a debate...
I was left so wrung out and heartsick I couldn’t even go to bed.
With every fiber of my being I don’t want Donald Trump to mess up MY chances for a great America again!
I flipped from chanel to chanel listening to commentators and willing them to not disparage him
I was scared.....worn out.....and grasping at hope.
But many did not disparage him.....and ALL the instant polls put him way ahead of the other candidates for the debate.
Still.....I was wrung out
Finally in tears I cried out to the Lord.....HELP!
And as I did, I realized what my problem was....
.....I wanted CONTROL......and I was feeling so out of control.
I had no control over Scalia’s death
I had no control over a stacked audience of rude, insufferable people who boo!
I had no control over mean push polls and TV adds that were anti Trump and charged up his ire.
I JUST WANT HIM TO WIN!!!.......
The realization that God is in control.....not I.....allowed me to get some rest.
And I sure prayed for Trump and his family and myself for peace.
This morning I went to church.
The sermon had my name all over it : )
It was from Exodus 14....... Against all odds the Egyptians were fleeing, finally, from captivity in Egypt

....demonstrating God’s ability to deliver us through any situation.
The Israelites were at the Red Sea......and scared.....Pharaoh and his legion behind them breathing down their neck.....the Red Sea in front of them
People like them, and us, FREEZE, LOCK UP....the worse decision is indecision
Our God majors in the impossible and He brought them through!
Donald Trump, since he declared June 16, 2015 has never locked up!
He has always been decisive, running into battle, as if he is on a mission and will not stop until it is completed!
God, I believe, has brought him thus far!.....We wouldn’t have the HOPE we have after 8 long months if God hadn’t blessed Trump’s vision.
Trump has taken it on the chin.....24/7.... for these 8 months!
No let up.....hardly no down time.....every word he utters, everything he does is analyzed to the nth degree
Trump was angry last night....he is human
Again, the debate was stacked against him......rude people in the auditorium probably incouraged to boo him and act ugly.
At some level, he must be sooooo tired physically , mentally and emotionally.....even with his awesome vigor and energy
But when we are cornered, God is protecting us
Krauthammer doesn’t have a lot of positives when he speaks of Trump, but last night I heard grudging respect when he said.......’Trump was not sitting on his New Hampshire win and high polling’.....Trump could have been very neutral last night and protected his position.....
.....but I think he understands, especially with Scalia’s death, the stakes just became higher and he felt compelled to press the attack!
God love him.....He runs to battle, like any good warrior.

God can make a way where there seems to be no way....He is a Deliverer!!!!
If God has called Trump ......He will equip him for the task ahead and deliver to him the Presidency.
If God is not in this......it will not happen.
I happen to believe God is in this, and is way ahead of us.

I understand completely where your heartfelt words are from.
My dad entered the Army Air Corp at 19 and was sent to the China/ Burma/ India theater......he was in India working on the supply line for 4 years.
At one point he contracted dysentery so bad ( from a macaroon cookie, of all things) that he took from a local) ....they sent him to a rest camp high in the mountains.
He was very sick.....he said in the morning the doctor gave him arsenic to kill the dysentery......and in the afternoon gave his huge amounts of vitamins so the arsenic wouldn’t kill him
It seems like a strange cure to me, but he affirmed it every time he told me the story
He wanted to live to 90......but after mom died, just didn’t have the will.
