In the video, between approximately 8:09 - 8:15 two flashes can be seen. Within two seconds of the second flash Finicum drives from the first stop.

...

Those flashes are aperture changes in the camera.

And that was the first time the vehicle stopped. It wasn’t the first checkpoint where the other vehicle surrendered.

Unloading a few clips from their submachines into the truck isn’t trying to kill them?

...

There’s no evidence for that.

They fired flash bangs and foam bullets with pepper spray.

Stop making things up. It makes you look worse.

> Those flashes are aperture changes in the camera.

There is no change to the image. Two flashes and nothing else.

Foam bullets? What is your source for that?

We’re talking about the shooting here, not what happened days or weeks ago at some other venue. Btw, at the other venue a few days ago, the leader of this movement not only met with, peacefully discussed what they were doing, joked with the feds and shook their hands.

Is that something mass murdering dangerous criminal terrorist would do?

How many rounds did the occupants of the truck fire, as opposed to the LEOs? I’m betting none, zero.

It’s on the last page. Read the whole statement if you want to be informed.

Diversion, again: “had no idea what kind of firepower the people in those vehicles had”.

If they had fully automatic machine guns and RPGs in the trunk, would that be sufficient?

Absent a CREDIBLE threat to LEO life by the driver or passengers — and jumping in front of a vehicle to shoot at it doesn’t count, sorry — there is no justification for the homicide, is there? Finicum didn’t try to ram the LEO’s, he clearly tried to avoid impact.

Trying to demonize citizens for lawfully carrying or transporting firearms — when they were NOT used to threaten someone’s safety — is a diversion.

So there ya have, the feds did their investigation, and released it to the public within hours after the shoot.

I can certainly imagine why the feds would quickly do this. But why have they been so slow to reveal the real physical evidence? What’s up with that?

Thank you for that reference. After shooting Finicum foam bullets with pepper spray were deployed to disorient those still in the truck.

The video shows flashes after which Finicum drove from the stop. This corresponds with Victoria Sharp’s statements issued prior to release of the video that they left after being shot at.

According to Victoria Sharp, Ryan Payne had his hands outside the front passenger window, as instructed, at the first stop. You can see that in the video, but it's not clear. She said they shot at Ryan (probably the cop standing at the passenger side directly behind) and missed him. That is when Finicum took off. The edited video that I have seen cuts out 3:47 of that portion with the statement "nothing happens here for 3:47." Oh really.

The very interesting thing about all of this was the immediate release of the "witness statement" from Mark Mc Connell, who was driving the Jeep Ammon Bundy was in. He was stopped well behind the first roadblock. After Finicum took off, he proceeded at least a mile down the road from where the Jeep was stopped, through two sharp turns, along a road lined with trees. Yet McConnell claimed he saw Finicum charge the police. Oh really? And then McConnell, who was driving the "domestic terrorist" the Feds really wanted, was released with no charges. VERY INTERESTING. I think we found our stinky Fed plant, and it's not Pete Santilli.

After shooting Finicum foam bullets with pepper spray

Boy, those foam bullets proved fatal.

You asked, "Why would such a corrupt government release a video showing a bad shoot?"

THIS corrupt regime wants the peons to know they are less than dirt value to the oligarchy and the regime thuggery can murder anyone, anytime, with impunity.

Finicum was either tazed or shot in the lower left abdomen when his hands came down. You try keeping your arms straight out to the sides or above your head when you’ve been gunshot. SMH at some of these comments on here.

Moonman62:

You do seem a tad overeager to rise to the defense of an Oregon trooper who shot this man to death in what is AT LEAST a very questionable instance of "law enforcement." I don't want to pre-judge the trooper. I want to see and hear AS MUCH of the actual evidence as possible.

When the incident first happened, we were told that Finicum was unarmed when shot to death. Now it turns out that he had a 9MM automatic in a holster, which he had every right to have and carry. That teaches me not to jump to conclusions based on media reports. I should have known better.

Was he actually reaching for that weapon when he was shot in a police stop? In that event, perhaps the trooper was justified. Could he have been tasered instead, then otherwise. Is his possession of the firearm merely being used as a justification after the fact without evidence that he intended to draw it? Right now, we don't really know. I wasn't there.

How many times was he shot? Was he shot in the vicinity of the gun which the police claim he was drawing, in which case his hand moving toward the wound may have been voluntary. Did he reach first (or at all) or was he shot first?

I would very much like to see a really first rate trial attorney like the now retired Gerry Spence of Wyoming take on the case of the widow and the orphans. I would also like to see the trooper represented by a first rate defense attorney in any civil or criminal matter and then let the chips fall where they may. Ideally, in a case of such major public importance, the matter would be tried in federal court before a well-respected and scrupulously neutral judge. Federal jurisdiction can likely be invoked by noting the involvement of the FBI in what superficially seems to have been a planned ambush.

When the original story was that the gentleman killed was allegedly unarmed, I confess jumping to the conclusion that it sounded like a murder and now I am not so sure either way. I am not overly sympathetic to the seizure of this nature center which seizure and the attendant risk to human life on both sides seems disproportional to what those seizing it are complaining about.

Gerry Spence always expressed himself as being very much in opposition to Randy Weaver's eccentric views but represented him anyway and got him off on any criminal charges and secured a multimillion dollar settlement for Randy Weaver and his family for the atrocities against them by Federal Marshals and FBI officers and officials at Ruby Ridge. Justice was served impartially.

Spence was a truly extraordinary trial attorney but at his advanced age (87 years old) he no longer tries cases or apparently practices law. OTOH, there a LOT of trial lawyers out there, some of them outstanding if not quite Spence but perfectly able to represent the widow and children. If it turns out that the facts and evidence fairly support prosecution for murder (beyond a reasonable doubt), let the trooper be prosecuted as such and let him be ably defended.

As a nation, however, we must understand, whether this trooper is guilty or not, that a badge is NOT a license to kill civilians when the killing is not justified by a scrupulous reading of the law.

Nothing worthy is advanced by calling each other names.

Whatever else is true, the Feebies and the troopers involved do not seem to have been "Officer Friendly" types.

And was there, as claimed by media a “firefight” or, as apparently claimed by Law Enforcement officers was Finnecum merely reaching for his gun, in which case it was not a fight but a volley fired in one direction only.

I see. What people should do is watch their neighbors get hauled off — on trumped up, double jeopardy charges — to a federal prison while their land is stolen by the federal government for illegal dealings with a foreign government. A corrupt judge, his brother (regional director for the BLM), and their hand picked puppet sheriff rule over the town and county like English Barons. Sign petitions, participate in a protest march, repeatedly attempt all legal channels and be ignored by those land barons. Then go home, bitch about how unfair it all is on social media, and wait for them to come and take your land next. I guess that is the appropriate solution, according to you?

I am too poor to contribute but I have always been treated with the utmost fairness here. You claim is not justified as to donations. Argue the subject of this thread on the merits. You may well win.

Like I said...somewhere else in this thread...it’s going to go down the same way in the books: Assault with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest, reaching for a weapon.

Well since you're a fed and work for the propaganda arm, I guess we have to just believe you. Even if it's all lies.

You can always tell when folks are being evasive, when they divert with motives to evade and deceive.

Funny, the feds quickly would put on that statement, yet nothing else is heard regarding the actual evidence. Zip.
