RE: Go ahead, Donald. File suit. What’s stopping you?

The SCOTUS will only take cases from those who have STANDING.

From the definition of STANDING:

Standing, sometimes referred to as standing to sue, is the name of the federal law doctrine that focuses on whether a prospective plaintiff can show that some personal legal interest has been invaded by the defendant. It is not enough that a person is merely interested as a member of the general public in the resolution of the dispute. The person must have a personal stake in the outcome of the controversy.

I think Trump would qualify.

I don’t.

There is no actual law that says an ineligible person can’t run in a primary, or be nominated or run in the general for president.

“No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President;”

It only seems to say that after a person is elected and attempts to take office is when a foul could be called.

Least that’s how I read it. It doesn’t say anything about elections or nominations or primaries.

The RNC should file suit. neither of Rubies parents were citizens at %me of birth. Many are first generation citizens, Santorum, Jindall, and even Trump.
RNC is most damaged. They must certify candidates eligible.

We should all put pressure on them.

Cruz has a stake, and is involved in multiple suits now. I mean, Cruz has "standing" although that notion is nonsense when looking at a defendant.

There is at least one case, "Prag", who is an opponent on the ballot, where plaintiff has standing in the traditional sense.
