This statement does not say so much about Trump personally; because of course Trump has no intentions of doing it. BUT, it says so, so, so, much about his voters, or how he sees them. It says Trumps voters worship him. Trump can do no wrong — if he does, they don't care, they'll vote Trump anyway. It says, this movement has become a cult, a fanatical mass movement of True Believers.

I think it does say something about him. And this is not the first time where he turned off his brain and flapped his mouth. A president who does not know how to watch his words and calibrate his statements can create a lot of problems even unintentionally.
